Sometimes a shopping spree with The Boyfriend's sister pays off.

Cause I got this great top!! (WARNING: more corny poses. . . . .)

Washing wine glasses is so much fun. . . .
My apartment is too small :(

Work 8 hours then school for 3 in high heels = sore feet. (Yes, I know my apartment's a giant mess, and I have no idea why there's a glare)
Yes, I'm weird.

What I got in the mail

Recently I've been hearing a lot of buzz about NYX matte lipsticks. I'm not much of a makeup person, but lately I've been trying to put more effort. Then I saw someone wearing a crazy shade of lavender lipstick that looked really cool, and I told myself I needed to branch out of my usual (chapstick).

So I found a website (Cherry Culture, link on the side of my blog) that sold these babies for a buck and some change. I think you get free shipping if you order so much money, so if you want order a bunch with a friend and split the cost. I kind of went crazy and bought 5 different shades: Thalia, Medusa, B52, Tea Rose, and Snow White. A warning: The color swatches online are REALLY bad. Why do you think I bought so many colors?!Here they are in the above order.

So, of course I tried them out in that order. I guess I should say that my complexion is on the tanner side, so keep that in mind. Also, excuse my nasty lips.

First is Thalia:
This color was just slightly lighter than my natural lip color (kind of a pinky taupe-y color). It looked very "me but better" so I'm a fan!

Next was Medusa:
You can't really tell in the picture, but all I can say is DRAMA!!! This was a dark purple color. I definitely can't wear this too often, and my first reaction was WHOA! GOTH!! But after the inital shock went away, it's not so bad. I would definitely need the right outfit.

Next in line was B52:
This shade was just darker than my natural color, and had the same effect as Thalia: Me but better. Another fan.

Next is Tea Rose:
This color is pink! But not too pink. It's probably the lightest pale pink color that I can wear with my skin tone. Any lighter and I'd look like that woman from "There's something about Mary." But seriously, I'm a fan. This is definitely a summer shade!

And finally Snow White:

Can we say RED?! But more like circa 50's - 60's red, not like porn star red. I will definitely be wearing this when I'm feeling a little retro.

So anyway, I didn't really get to try these out all day, so I can't really attest to how long lasting they are, but they did apply very smoothly, and the color pigments really stand out! I can't wait to experiment with these some more!

It's so hard not to shop!!!

Why is it that every time I tell myself I am not allowed to buy ANYTHING ELSE, I find something I want?!!

Case in point. As soon as I thought I was safe from EVER buying a romper (cause anything that originally comes from a baby's play date outfit should not be worn from an unsexy woman, at least not me), I find one that I want.
Of course New York and Co just HAS to make a romper that even the unsexiest girl (me) will be willing to try. That doesn't even look like a freakin' romper, which of course makes me want it more. Think of how comfy that would be!! AND it's on sale for $17.18. Gah!!

Ugh, this is so hard. You don't even need any styling with that romper, other than a belt, like the one the model has on!! It's a ready made outfit. I mean, if I REALLY wanted to style that romper up, I might do bright colored tights with some sky high heels, the skinny belt, and a skinny men's necktie (hey, I just bought one and I need something to wear it with), but that's if I just REALLY wanted to create work for myself.

Then of course there's this dress for $29.95 from NY&Co. AND of course I have to like both colors it's offered in.
Of course, I'm leaning more towards the gray one, just cause I have a love affair with gray right now, but the yellow is hard to pass up. . . . And of course, another piece that needs barely any styling, and at a reasonable price. Just some cute shoes (flats if you want to go casual, heels if you want to be dressy). MAYBE a blazer if you wanted to wear this to work.

Speaking of blazers, of course I have to find a boyfriend blazer at NY&Co that is made with cotton and spandex. A comfy jacket that instantly brings class to your outfit?! Why NY&Co?! Why do you have to make such reasonable things?!!! This one's $42.95, but still, the concept makes it worth it. . . . if I had money.
I guess I should take solace that IF I were to cave and buy these things, I can get free shipping if I enter the code 1254 and spend at least $65. I think I have that $65 minimum beat so far. . . . .

My friends are awesome.

Don't know if y'all (yes, I'm from Texas, deal with it) remember, but a few blogs ago, I was blogging about an outfit based around a dress from Mod Cloth.
Well, my friend has that dress and showed me how she styled herself!! I think she looks very fashion forward, don't you?

Too much to do. . . So let's blog instead.
